Dr Finlay to don his wig
PA ' Auckland The retired Labour parliamentarian and former Minister of Justice, Dr Martyn Finlay. Q.C., will make a rare appearance in the High Court At Auckland riext week to “keep his hand iti” as a barrister. don’t want to curl my toes in,” Dr Finlay said. Since leaving politics, Dr Finlay has been in private practice in Mount Eden doing “whatever goes ori.” That has been principally legal opinion work.
“It is quidter than the alternative; Wellington, and a good deal more civilised,” said Dr Finlay. “The more I see of it (today’s political scene) I am very pleased I have not to soil my fingers.” Political issues, he Said, had been “personalised.” Attacks wete not made on principles but oh people.
