First woman on council
PA Auckland The editor of the New Zealand Woman’s Weekly, Miss Jean Wishart, has become the first woman to be elected to the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce.
Miss Wishart, who is also a director of New Zealand News, Ltd, was formally installed as a member of the council at the annual meeting of the chamber last evening.
