New secretary for conference
PA Wellington Mr Hafford Poland will be the next chief executive officer of the New Zealand Racing Conference. His appointment was announced yesterday. Mr Poland wi'l take up his appointment after the retirement of the present office-holder Mr Tony Algie. When he takes up his new 'post, Mr Poland will be the )sixth secretary of the conference. Now 48, he joined I in 1950 as an office junior land has been involved in just about every form of conference administrative work, with ■ the .notable exception’ of the studbook department.
