PA Wellington Two senior Racing Conference officials are to leave the organisation. The senior Auckland stipendiary, Mr Arthur Bird, will retire at the end of the year, while the Christchurch racecourse inspector, Mr Ken Samson, will leave the conference on July 31, His early resignation for personal reasons was accepted with great regret by conference officials. Mr Bird’s retirement has meant some changes among the stipendiary stewards. Mr Les Murihead. at present base’ in Christchurch, will transfer to Auckland on Mr Bird’s retirement.
Mr Greg Humphries, at present in Palmerston North, will move to Christchurch after Mr Muirhead’s transfer.
