New chief for Command
Mr W. J. McLaughlan has been appointed managing director of Command Services Corporation, Ltd. Mr McLaughlan’s appoint-
ment arises from the resignation of Mr A. J. McGrath as chief executive of the group. Mr McGrath’s resignation was accepted with regret but for personal reasons, with which the board is sympathetic, •he desires to return to Australia from where he joined the group ten years ago. He will still have an association with the group in an involvement with some of the company’s overseas investments.
The chairman (Mr E. A. Crothall) in announcing the executive change, paid tribute to Mr McGrath’s outstanding contribution to the group’s development in his years with the company. Mr Crothall also announced the appointment of Mr J. K. Torrance as deputy managing director. Both Mr McLaughlan and Mr Torrance have been with the company for more than 20 years, Mr McLaughlan in latter years as managing director of Crothall In-
dustries, Ltd, the major subsidiary of the group, and Mr Torrance as finance director of the group.
