A most unusual liqueur which has just been released on the New Zealand market is sure to capture the interest of connoisseurs. It is made in Auckland by MacGregors from an ancient Chinese recipe. The main ingredient is deer antler velvet. The bulk of the brew is to be exported to China, where the residents have a firm belief in its restorative powers, but for curious locals a small quantity has been made available. Wilson Neill’s Liquor Supermarket has the liqueur in stock, selling at $31.50 a bottle. The liqueur has a flavour reminiscent of a whisky-based liqueur.
