Water short on Coast
Greymouth reporter Continuing fine weather on the West Coast has led to calls for water tankers to ■ supply many rural householders who . depend on tanks for their water supplies. So far this month Greymouth has had only 28.8 mm of rain, compared with 160.2 mm at the corresponding time last year. Mr F. Nicholas, manager of Ruggs Transport, Ltd, which carts the water, said that five loads of water had been carted to the Kaiata, Kumara Junction, and South Beach areas, and he expected more requests if the dry spell continued.
