Wattie report helps market
The interim profit report by Wattie Indus tries helped share prices recover from the recent easier trend on a busy New Zealand sharemarket yesterday. The higher profit and dividend announcement by Wattie pushed its own share pric eup2c to 110 c, and other market leaders to m included N.Z. Forest Products, Challenge, Feltex, and U.E.B. Second-line sharess were mixed. Fountain regained 25c to 175 c, Auckland Gas and BNZ Finance rose 10c each, but Healing and 1. J. Edmonds were both down sc. Walker and Hall eased in line with the falling precious metal prices, and Brambles Burnett lost lc to 61c.
