Ploughmen qualify

In the final qualifying event for this year’s national ploughing championships held at Milford, South Canterbury, yesterday two more men qualified to plough at Lincoln on May 14 and 15.

They are P. D. Carter (Greenpark), not a newcomer to championship ploughing, and S. A. Richmond (Seddon). Carter will represent the Milford Young Farmers and Richmond the Geraldine Young Farmers. Placings in the event, which attracted seven competitors, were: Carter, 157 points, 1; Richmond, 151, 2; W. Hargreaves (Ashburton), 148, 3.
