New race
The Timaru Trotting Club is to hold the South Island heat of the Roydon Lodge Fillies Stakes, an gventj for two-year-old fillies. The race, which will be incorporated in the pro* gramme for the club’s meeting on May 17, will bef for two-year-old- fillies 3 It will be limited to 12 starters, and raced over a distance of 2000nii from a standing start for a stake of $2500, plus a service fee of $5OO to any of the Roydon Lodge stallions. The final of the series Jwili be raced at Hutt Park bn May 31.
