Chch firm wins big contract
A Christchurch electrical firm has won a major contract to wire part of the Tomoana freezing works in Hawke’s Bay which is being rebuilt after a fire last year. The managing director of Aotea Electrical, Ltd (Mr M. J. Newcombe), has said the contract was worth $250,000, and the job had to be completed in four months, which was very 7 quick for a contract of that size. The company two years ago established a Hastings branch that employed nine people and had specialised in heavy industrial electrical work, said Mr Newcombe. The Tomoana contract had been won against an Auckland company and involved the wiring of new beef and boning facilities.
