Lions to hold meeting
New Zealand’s president of Lior.b International (Mr L. Morgan) will attend the opening of the district convention in the Christchurch Town Hall on Friday. Mr Morgan is the first New Zealand, Lions president to be elected to the international position. The past international president. Professor J. F. Sobral, of Brazil, will also attend the conference, with a group of 50 American Lions who are presently on a sight-seeing tour of New Zealand. The conference will be opened by the Mayor of Christchurch (Mr Hamish Hay) and will end on Sunday morning. It is expected that more than 800 Lions and their wives will attend .the convention.
