The Council processes a large number of systems using both I.C.L. 1902 A and 2904 mainframes, and ideally seeks a person experienced in this type of equipment. Experience in EXEC 2S, JCL and operating in a multiprogramming environment would be an advantage. At present a single shift Is run but this may be extended as required. IVSI6 DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS' PART-TIME SURVEY INTERVIEWER CHRISTCHURCH WE are looking for mature persons for a part-time interviewing position with the Department’s Household Survey, a study into household spending patterns. Ideally, the applicants will live in or around Christchurch as the work is concentrated in this area. Approximately 10 hours per week are involved for two months out of eyery three. Although the hours are flexible, the majority of the work is carried out in the evenings and week-ends. The position is unsuitable for combining with a fulltime job, or any sales work. Experience in social or market research is useful, but not essential, as full training will be given at a 5 day course to be held in Christchurch between June 16 and 20 inclusive. You would need a driver’s licence and the unrestricted use of a car, for which Public Service mileage rates will be paid. FIELD TECHNICIAN SOIL AND PLANT RESEARCH STATION A VACANCY exists within the insect control and organic chemistry group at Ruakura for a Field Technician. The work is in the field of Agricultural Entomology, current duties being largely concerned with the ecology and control of grass grub. Knowledge and ability in agriculture as well. Duties include sampling and measurement of soil, plant, climatic, animal and pest parameters. The appointee will also be required to assist with, recording, collation and mathematical analysis, of results. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant should hold a Bachelors Degree in Science or Agriculture.
