After three days of operations, unrewarding ones for jackpot hunters, the Canterbury Jockey Club has $BBOO in its pool to go forward to its next meeting — on May 13. The revival of the jackpot at the C.J.C. Easter meeting came in for some close attention from officials of other clubs, and the slow build-up in the pool was one of the man talking points.
At least one southern club with fewer dates than the Canterbury Jockey Club, hopes to spark early interest in any jackpot it conducts by putting a four-figure amount in the pool to start with.
