Effortless win for Philippa Frost
" Philippa Frost had little more than a moderate workout when she brought up her seventh success for the season in the Pipers Handi-
cap at Addington Raceway] last evening. | After becoming awkwardly i placed on the rails just after] the start she received a I grand run one off the fence behind Be Sly over the last 1400 m.
Fred Fletcher was content to wait until the straight entrance before asking her to imrove, and she strode up to Timely Robin and Be Sly with ease. At no stage of the last 75m did he have to ask her for an effort. And she won easily by a length and a half. As well as her several wins, Philippa Frost has had 13 placings from 24 starts this season for Mrs B. M. Steel, of Christchurch. She is to travel North to oppose Delightful Lady and other well performed mares in the $17,500 North Island Standardbred Breeders Stakes at Alexandra Park on Friday. Philippa Frost will remain in the north after that race and be prepared for further racing in that area. Her success last evening earned her a C 9 rating. Be Sly confirmed some sound efforts at trials recently by holding on for
second, two lengths in front (of the tiring pacemaker,' ' Timely Robin. •| Westburn Vue made 11ground for a close fourth: ; followed by Not A Chance : and All Spice.
