University Union facilities
The facilities available for conferences and other activities in the University of Canterbury Students’ Union Building are student facilities and as such are (aider . the control of the Students’ Association. With the agreement of the association, the facilities are made available to. non-university groups when students are not using them. The facilities are generally only available ■to outside groups, during vacations and at week-ends. . However, bookings at other times are possible bn application if the areas are not being used by students. The catering venues, the theatre, and other venues on campus managed by the union are more readily available to outside groups but bookings should bef made well in advance as I they receive heavy use. f For -conferences, the : Students’ Union offers high ! quality integrated facilities j suiting most needs, and 1' special arrangements can [ be made on use of facilities ! when a large proportion of { the building is being used j by any one organisation, i These arrangements in- • elude an integration of } venue, catering and rei creational needs as well as , hire charge concessions j which are available on ; application for large conIferences. For conferences retum- ( ing on a regular basis L (every three years, or less) ; additional concessions may ; be granted on application, depending on the type of ! conference and whether or ?not the catering services j are used.
