Church aid for Fiji
PA WellingtonChristian World Service, on behalf of its 11 member Churches, has sent $2OOO to the Fiji Council of . Churches for Cyclone Wally relief. Its director, the Rev. Turner, said he had telephoned Fiji And established that the immediate need was for money to buy food, clothing, and housing materials.
“When the situation eases, and a more comprehensive assessment is possible, the Fiji Council of Churches Will let us know if we Can supply particular goods and services from New Zealand,” said Mr Turner. “In the meantime, the immediate cash will allow Church workers to purchase Fijian goods to meet immediate needs.”
