South Island Movement
Sir, — This evening Stephen Andrews appeared .on television in a news item linking his name as spokesman or chairman of a group endeavouring to split politically our small country in two. Could-this person not use his time to greater advantage by promoting the unity of our country. It is somewhat difficult to understand why Mr Andrews should foster such nonsense in an effort to create a rift between our North and South Islands, With our country’s present economic problems the necessity exists for utmost harmony and co-operation both industrially and politically and it is indeed unbelievable that a group of persons calling themselves New Zealanders could support such a proposition. — Yours, etc., BETTY E. GOULDEN. ' April 13, 1980. i
