Manager of T.H.C. resigns
PA Wellington The general manager of the Tourist Hotel Corporation (Mr A. Young) has resigned to become direct* or and general manager of the Southern Pacific Hotel Corporation in Australia. The Australian corporation runs 61 Pacific hotels, including the Travelodge chain. Mr Young’s resignation was announced by the chairman of the Tourist Hotel Corporation (Mr R. D. Cox). Mr Young will leave for Australia in May and will be replaced by the present deputy general manager (Mr M. Hoy). Mr Young joined the corporation in 1960 and had played a main role in the development of its 15hotel chain, Mr Cox said. The Minister of Tourism (Mr Cooper) said he regretted the resignatior of Mr Young. . “Mr Young has carnec out his duties in a skilful and dedicated manner,a I Mr Cooper said.
