Douglas man ‘lied’
NZPA-Reuter Washington The sales manager of Douglas Aircraft has been charged with lying, to a grand jury investigating allegations that officials of its parent company, McDonnell Douglas, concealed overseas payments aimed at boosting sales. A Federal grand jury accused Sherman Pruitt of lying when questioned about who received payments from the company. •
Pruitt was among several McDonnell Douglas officials charged last November with concealing more than $7.5 million in overseas payments. The incident, which came after a two-year investigation, alleged that much of the money went to airline or Government officials in South Korea, rhe Philippines, Zaire, Venezuela, and Pakistan.
