A police dog handler moves in on a group of black youths during a sixhour riot in the inner city suburb of St Pauls, in Bristol, England. Nineteen police officers and nine civilians were injured in running battles which began when the police raided a local club. The predominantly West Indian area is one of high social stress with poor housing and high unemployment, especially among the young.
