Union coverage dispute settled
An Arbitration Court decision has ended a dispute between the Northern Storemen and Packers’ Union and the New Zealand Workers’ Union over which should have coverage of the workers in a kiwi fruit packing shed.
The Storemen and Pack- • ers’ Union had applied t,o , the Court for coverage of the workers in a co-oper- . ative shed run by Bay of Plenty Fruit Packers, Ltd, at Te Puke. However, the Court ruled that the Workers' Union, which had covered the workers “for a long time,” was the proper. ,
