Rich|ard Williams, accused in ths (“pickle poisoner” case in which cyanide was found in food on California superI market shelves, is being held ion bail of $15,000 after a magistrate said he was not I overwhelmed by the eviI dence. Williams was arrested on Thursday night and charged with extortion in connection with the discovery of cyanide in a jar of pickles and a bottle of sauce in supermarkets in La Jolla and Pacific Beach, California. A telephone caller to the stores said there was poison in other jars and he would identify them only if he received a bag of diamonds. — Los Angeles.
