Carter gets injunction

A Supreme Court interim injunction has been served on Fletcher Holdings, Ltd, and six institutions by Carter Holt Holdings, Ltd, in an attempt to stop the Fletcher take-over offer for Carter Holt.

Approval for the issue of the injunction was granted this morning in Auckland by Mr Justice Moller.

The injunction, served on Fletcher early in the afternoon, is' aimed at stopping Fletcher sending out its offer to Shareholders.

Receipt of a copy by Fletcher was confirmed by the managing director (Mr H. A. Fletcher). He said that Fletcher would be filing papers in the court to have the injunction set aside. The joint managing director of Carter Holt (Mr R. H. A. Carter) who has been handling the matter on his company’s side, said the Carter Holt position consequent to the injunction would be outlined in a statement he would give to' the Stock Exchange Association today.
