In his cluttered Riccar- I ton workshop, John Britten and his assistants are turning out a wide range of stained and curved glass lamps and shades in all shdpes and sizfes. His working facilities . may seem disorganised 1 but John (pictured above working on one of his i brass based, water lily theme lamps; with one of 1 his illuminated parrots in ; the top right hand comer) I certainly is not. Already, John has 1 opened his own shop, . Kenton Glass, which specialises in Tiffany style, stained glass lampshades, as well as terrariums and free form glasswork, in . the Shades Arcade. | On his Tiffany lampshades, John 'uses' both , the standard lead cane . strips and the copper, foil I technique,’ which he considers much better. Word of mouth has spread the news about his interesting work as far as Australia, where he sells a variety of his products.
