The associated cold front is expected to bring some fain to the North Island during the day, but clearing weather with a change to southwest winds is expected in lhe north later this morning. An intense anti-cyclone over Tasmania extends a ridge over the seas south of New Zealand. A moist easterly flow between this ridge and

the depression will bring extensive areas of mist and' drizzle to the east of the South Island, and these conditions may spread into the, Cook Strait area and south! Wairarapa.
