Casinos in N.Z.
Sir, — I heartily agree with Mrs Oxley (March 31), concerning casinos and we should surely raise a storm to prevent this vicious gamble, coming to New Zealand. It would surely put tremendous pressure on our policemen. It could cause many broken homes, which is the last thing New Zealand. wants any more of. Why should we water down our country’s laws? This country, is our country and not that of the tourists. Let the tourists come and see New Zealand as New Zea- . land is. The last two morni sings at? 10 a.m. on YA sta- . lions? in “Faith for- today ' service,” our Prime Minister and Mr Rowling have spoken on “What my faith means' to me.” It has • been f.' excellent listening. It would be a good idea to hear some more members on the. same . subject. — Yours, etc.. • • • (Mrs)/R. J. BARTON, Ashburton. ■ ••.< Aprils, 1980.; - ;
