Redundancy agreement
PA Auckland New Zealand Farmers Fertiliser and four combined unions have agreed on redundancy payments to be made to about .280 of the company’s workers throughout New Zealand who will lose their jobs. The clerks, storemen, drivers, and drug and chemical workers are being made redundant through the closing of the pharmacy wholesale division of Kempthome Medical Supplies.
The settlement, signed 5 ;terday, provides for two weeks pay for a worker with up to six months service, three weeks pay for service between six months and 12 months, 4| weeks pay for service between 12 months and 18 months, and five weeks pay for service between 18 months and two years. Thereafter, half a week’s pay is payable for each six months of service or part of six months.
