Highway 79 reclassified
State highway 79 between Geraldine and Fairlie has been reclassified by the Ministry of Works and Development as a Class 1 highway, according to information received by the Mackenzie County Council. The council’s consulting engineer, (Mr J. R. ere) said that the National Roads Board would have to contribute more to the maintenance of the road if* it were given heavier use after the reclassification.
