Attempted murder remands

PA Wanganui Two men charged with the attempted murder on March 27 of a youth aged 18, allegedly shot in the mouth with a rifle, were remanded to April 14 when they appeared in the Magistrate’s Court at Wanganui.

Gary Christopher Cane, aged 34, and lan Palmer, aged 47, both painters, were declined bail after a hearing in chambers before Mr D. Lowe, S.M. Sergeant K. J. Newsome. for the police, sought a remand without pleas and said bail was opposed.

Cane was already on Supreme Court bail for drugs-related offences on which he was to appear for a depositions hearing on April 23, he said-
