Dundee knocked out
NZPA-Reuter; , Landover, ‘ Maryland Sugar Ray I Leonard easily won his'first World Boxing Council (W.B.C!) welterweight defence by a knockout on Monday night, but his veteran manager, Angelo Dundee, was not so lucky. After Leonard knocked out Britain’s David (Boy) Green in the fourth round, he and Dundee started to return to their dressing room. But on the way, a man in
a ; black suit slugged Dundee on the chin, knocking him out as flat as Leonard, did to the British challenger. There was no immediate reason for. the assailant’s action, except that observers said the' man spoke a few words to Dundee before the incident. Dundee, who is Muhammad Ali’s long-time trainer, was revived after, lying prone in a Capital Centre passageway' for a -few moments.
