Rebecca qualifies
NZPA , Suva New Zealand’s Rebecca Perrott, aged 18, has swum inside the Olympic qualifying time to set a Fiji allcomers’ record of 57.95. for the 100 m freestyle at Suva. Competing, against local men and a woman swimmer at the Suva Olympic .Pool, Miss Perrott broke a Fiji record • which had stood since 1974 when the Australian Olympic, gold medallist, Shane Gould, swam the distance in Imin 0.45. •
Miss Perrott spent a week in Fiji training, and helping local swimmers.
