$25,500 to charities
Grants totalling $25,500 have been made from the Frederick William and Jessie May Jones Foundation to 16 organisations in Canterbury. The biggest grants of $6500 went to the Canterbury branch of the Society for the Intellectually Handicapped. The trust was set up by the will of Mr Arthur Jones, a Christchurch builder who died in 1968. The first grants were ; made by the foundation in : 1977.' '• ■.■
