Superannuation payments up
People receiving National Superannuation will get increased payments from today, as a result, of taxation adjustments provided for in the Government’s 1979 Budget. ’ ' The Department of Social Welfare advises that the - net average ordinary-time wage, which is used as a base for fixing the gross. j. rate of National. - ’ Superannuation, will increase from'sl3o.l4; io $131.71 a week.
Differing, tax codes trill produce, some variation in the actual net .increase payable, but this -is ■ expected to range between 67c and 70c a week. The new gross weekly rate - payable for a married couple will increase from $60.68 each to $61.39 each, and for an unmarried person from $72.82 to $73.67. The'increases will be Included :in the instalment- due on. April 8, 1980. -
