Meredith wins snooker
PA Hastings The national snooker champion. Dave Meredith, of Canterbury, won the Heretaunga 3000 snooked tournament at Hastings on Saturday night. Meredith took the first prisemoney of $l5OO when he beat Selwyn Rota, of Wellington, three frames to one. in the final. Meredith added 5250 to his' stake money •with the highest l break in the tournament with a score of 61 in the fourth frame of the (Inal. , Sixteen players from Auckland : to Christchurch attended the i tournament, sponsored for $3400 I and played at the Heretaunga l club in Hastings all day on Saturday.
