Minister out of hospital

The Minister of Transport (Mr McLachlan) was discharged from hospital yesterday and would probably be back at work after the Easter week-end, said Mrs McLachlan yesterday.

Mr McLachlan was resting at his West Melton home after he was admitted at Princess Margaret Hospital on Friday, for a series of tests for’ what his office described as "a minor ailment.”

The Minister of Tourism and Regional Development (Mr Cooper) is ,the Acting Minister of Transport in Mr McLachlan’s absence.

The Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) has declined to answer questions about Mr McLachlan’s health, the Press Association reports. Asked at a news conference if Mr McLachlan’s health gave him cause for concern, Mr Muldoon replied: "Are there any other questions?”
