Calf values improve
Store calf values improved steadily at the three sales held last week. On -Wednesday at Addington there was a sound sale. Steer calves sold to 5246 and heifer calves to $204. On Thursday at Culverden, values for steers improved •by $lO to $l5 and heifers were on a par with the Addington sale. Steer calves were mainly $l7O to $l9O. but a pen of Angus and Angus cross made $202. Helfers ranged from $125 to $l4O. The best o£ these, a line of Charolais cross, made $lBO. The Culverden sale reflected the excellent growing season. There were few light calves, and nothing sold below $llO. At Coalgate on Friday there was only a light yarding.
