Attention on Carter Holt
The talking point of trading on the New Zealand sharemarket yesterday was the suspen-; sion of trading in the shares of Carter Holt after two special sales totalling 6.018,896 shares went! through at 425 c, well above the previous ordinary price of 305. The suspension was lifted once it; was established that Fletcher Holdings was making a bid for Carter Holt. Rises and falls were in l balance on a firm, active market. Market leaders were more prominent in the rises and the N.Z.U.C. index was up 0.50 points, to 384.23.
