Schools to close
Five Christchurch high schools will close for an hour on Tuesday as part of a teachers’ campaign to publicise staffing shortages.
Burnside High School, Hillmorton High School, Aranui High School, Christchurch Girls’ High School and Riccarton High School will be affected by the campaign. The Post-Primary Teachers’ Association has taken similar action at three other Christchurch schools recently so that teachers could make up the extra time they say they have worked because of staff shortages.
