United, Gisborne, Manurewa lead
Three teams, Manurewa, Gisborne City and. Trans Tours United, retained 100 per cent winning records after the third round of the Rothmans Soccer League over the week-end. Manurewa beat HanimexNorth Shore, 1-0, with a goal five minutes after halftime by Alister Elder. That result means North Shore, which won the Adidas Chatham Cup last season, has yet to pick up its first point and has also been unable to socre a goal in its opening three matches. Gisborne had to fight hard to beat a determined Rangers in Gisborne. It scored twice early in the match and Rangers were unable to pull that lead back against a strong defence. Alan South scored near the end after a goal-mouth scramble to reduce the lead.United beat Mount .Wellington, 2-1, in a dis« appointing match at English Park, neither side playing to its full potential. In Dunedin, Hamilton was well beaten by Dunedin City,
