Transcendental meditation schools
Sir,—Under the heading “School aiming high,” I was shocked to read of proposed •schools (private) where transcendental meditation will be taught. There are <so many pressures on the young now that it seems almost barbaric
that parents would want their children to be subjected to this Hindu pantheism. Chanting a mantra to reach a mindless state will leave a space that could be filled with something horrible for life. Research has conclusively proved that many people’s minds, after T.M., have suffered from demonic
possession. Anyone having seen a wrecked life in this •state would want to stamp out the scourge at its source. The Education Department must be warped to bless a venture for the young into the Devil’s domain.—Yours, etc.,
A. LE CREN. March 27, 1980.
