Two young Malaysian men convicted of illegal possession of arms have been hanged, despite international and local pleas to save their lives.
The International-Commis-sion of Jurists and the Lon-don-based organisation, Amnesty International, appealed for clemency after the hanging of five young men earlier this month, two for mur-
der and three for illegal posssssion of arms. A carpenter Law Thin Wah, aged 25, and a labourer, Chua Boon Heng, aged 26,,. who had their appeals rejected last’’ year, were hanged, .at Pudu Prison, Kuala Lumpur, yesterday. The Internal Security Act obliges, courts to pass the death sentence on those found guilty of possession of arms. Forty-six others are awaiting execution under the act. . '
