Two Ghurkas hurt
Two soldiers from the Hong Kong-based 6th Ghurka Rifles are in satisfactory condition after their truck went over an embankment during an Army exercise at Lake Tekapo yesterday. The two sdldiers were travelling along the Brae-mar-Lake Pukaki Road during the Army exercise “Southern Safari,” when their truck careered over the
embankment and was extensively damaged. Both soldiers were taken by Army ambulance to an advanced dressing station in the exercise area. Corporal Nabahadur Gurin suffered cuts to the head and was later sent by road to the Burnham Camp Hospital. Rifleman Tirthabahadur Ali has remained in the hospital in the exercise area.
