Difficult golf draw
Canterbury, which finished third in the Russell Grace women’s golf inter-provin-cial tournament last year, has a very difficult draw for the 1980 event, which will start at Hastings on May 8. In the first round it is drawn against Auckland, last year’s winner. The same day, it will meet Bay of Plenty-Thames Valley, which
finished eighth in 1979. Canterbury’s third match is against Waikato-King Country, -which was last year’s runner-up. The matches which follow are against Southland (ninth last year), Nelson-West Coast-Marlbor-ough (thirteenth) and Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay (fifth).
