Governors Bay. 1980 NUFFIELD FOUNDATION COMMONWEALTH TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIPS THE Nuffield Foundation invites applications for a number of Commonwealth Travelling Fellowships in any field of recognised academic study. The purpose of these Fellowships is to enable highly qualified graduates to engage in post-graduate work and research in the United Kingdom. to prepare them for responsible academic or research positions in New Zealand. Applicants should be between the ages of 25 and 35 years, should possess high intellectual and personal qualities and should normally have a doctorate or similar higher degree of a University. A Fellow will be required to carry out at an approved institution a programme of work and training approved by the Nuffield Trustees. The Fellowships are normally tenable for one year, and provide up to three “excursion” return airfares (i.e. for a Fellow, his wife, and two children at half rates). The value of an award will vary according to the salary and study leave allowances a Fellow may expect to receive from his employing institution. Every award will include a tax-free disturbance allowance and provision for other necessary expenses.
