D.F.C. move to U.S.

PA Wellington The Development Finance Corporation will establish a permanent office in San Francisco to promote American interest in New Zea I a n d-based export-oriented manufacturing ventures. The corporation's information officer, Mr Lynn Bryan, said the North American office would also promote the saie of New Zealand technology on a commercial basis and would locate American technology' for use by New Zealand companies.

The office would be headed by Mr Christopher Parkin, who joined the corporation's central-

region section as a project analyst in 1976. Mr Parkin had gone to the United States a year ago to .assess the need for corporation representation there.

San Francisco had been chosen because it was the banking and financial centre for the west coast and was close to main industrial and agricultural areas.

The corporation would look especially to encourage investment from small to medium-sized technol o g y manufacturers whose development was limited to producing in the United States for their Own market.
