Bradnor Road reserve
Sir, — A property developer in Glandovey Road seeks planning permission from the Waimairi County Council to erect a vehicular access bridge from the Wairarapa Stream at the end of Bradnor Road. I wish to voice my strong protest as I was unavailable at the time this matter first received public airing. It should be appreciated that the property to be developed has a wide frontage on Glandovey Road with adequate and unimpeded access and that the developer already has alternative private access to Bradnor Road by way of an existing '■ footbridge across the Wairarapa Stream. The “reserve” at the end of Bradnor Road was developed and planted by two of the early residents of the street, it was cared for by them for many years until the council undertook its maintenance as a scenic and public amenity. The prunus and rowan trees which line the road ■were supplied by other residents and make a pleasant approach to this delightful spot. —Yours, etc.,
L. C. GARDINER March 27, 1980.
