More air fares up
By LES BLOXHAM, travel editor If will cost more to fly from New Zealand to many countries next week. Air New Zealand is expected to announce this week-end fuel-related inincreases of about 10 per cent on fares to Britain* Europe, Asia and -North America.
Not affected will be those fares already increased during the last few weeks, including routes across the Tasman and to some of the Pacific Islands. From April 1 the price of an ordinary return economy ticket between Christchurch and London will probably rise by about $230 to $2568.
