Wheat return date extended
Because of difficult weather for harvesting this season the date by which farmers north of a line from Waikouaiti to Queenstown are required to make declarations of wheat held in farm storage has been extended.
The general manager of the Wheat Board, Mr A. G. Elliott, said this week that in view of the variable weather which had been experienced in some areas north of the WaikouaitiQueenstown line delaying
the harvesting of wheat crops, the board, in agree- rment with the wheat- Jgrower’s sub-secti.on of ■■ Federated Farmers. had extended to April 15 the ,■ date by which growers north of the line were required to make declara- . tions of wheat held in farm storage. Mr Elliott said that . growers should ensure that ■■ declaration forms were re- < ceived by the Wheat Research Institute by thatdate.
