Better than schedule
The market for lamb in the early part of the season must have been better than exporters expected. Farmers who sold their lambs through the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company pool covering the period from October to mid-November showed a useful margin over schedule. For the 38,277 carcases in the pool realisations for the meat and skins bettered schedule by an average of $1.45.
